Ehrbachklamm Stash

Sehnsüchtiger Blick am Abend: Nur wenige hundert Meter entfernt ist die Burg doch unerreichbar.
Only a few hundred meters away, but still no way to get there: The castle on the evening before.

Vom Rhine View Stash kommend, erreichten wir die Region erst am Abend. Wir scherten uns nicht um die empfohlenen Startpunkte sondern folgten unserem Garmin und fuehren bis auf wenige Kilometer nach an den Cachepunkt heran. In der verbleibenden kurzen Zeit bis zum Dämmerung hofften wir, den Cache vielleicht sogar noch erreichen zu können. Und tatsächlich fanden wir schnell einen Weg, der uns bis auf wenige hundert Meter an die Burg heranführte. Doch dann tat sich leider eine - zumindest an dieser Stelle und um diese Zeit - unüberwindliche Schlucht zwischen uns und der Burg auf. Enttäuscht mussten wir für diesen Tag aufgeben. Coming from Rhine View Stash we arrived in the area at early evening. So we didn't bother to find the recommended start points but tried to follow our Garmin as directly as possible and thus found a way which we could drive quite near to the stash (only a few kilometers left). Should we be able to find the cache today - in the short time until sunset? No. After a short time we could see the castle not far away. Almost reachable if not for the deep gorge in front of our feet, which we could not climb. Not at this location, not at this time, especially since we were really hungry...     continue
