Wir hatten schon gleich zu Beginn unseres La Palma-Urlaubes beschlossen, dass der Cache auf der Ruta de los Vulcanes versteckt werden sollte. Doch dann mussten wir bis kurz vor der Abreise auf passendes Wetter warten, denn mehrere Tage lang verdeckten Wolken die Vulkangipfel. Die Wanderung erfordert feste Schuhe und etwas Kondition. Da man bereits auf halber Höhe am Grill- und Ausflugsplatz 'Refugio del Pilar' startet, hält sich die Kletterei in Grenzen, nur an zwei Stellen geht es längere Strecken kräftig bergan. Dafür geht der lange Abstieg am Ende unter Umständen ganz schön in die Knochen, vor allem in die Knie.      weiter

We decided to plant the cache on the Ruta de los Vulcanes right on the beginning of our vacation. But for weather reasons we had to wait until our last day on La Palma to actually do the trail. For whenever we attempted to go there, the tops of the volcanos were hidden in clouds. For this trail you should be in a good physical condition. You'll need good shoes too. The trail starts at a recreation camp ('Refugio del Pilar') half way up, so there is not that much steep climbing. Only twice the track goes staight up the vulcanos, which indeed is exausting. The descend however - though mostly only easily sloping - is a bit hard, simply because it's a long one and you might feel your knees after some hours of descending. At least I did ;-)     continue
